Grateful

Life has been fantastic lately, and I have been inspired by the ‘Making me Happy‘ column on In Spaces Between to put a list out there of things that I am grateful for, just to show the universe that I appreciate all the amazing things and people in my life.

Un Pour Moi, Un Pour Toi

I know I talk quite a bit about my amazing friends and their latest projects, but I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such talented and inspiring people and really love sharing with my readers, especially when they are involved in something that you may also be interested in.

When I first met Jessy I was not only amazed by her impeccable sense of style, but also inspired by her creativity and passion for each and every thing that was discussed.  All of that was on top of her being such a fun and like-able person that I felt like I clicked with instantly.

It made me so incredibly proud to hear that she was following her dreams and opening Molten Store, an ‘online destination for purveyors of delicate, otherworldly jewellery and indulgent curiosities’.

After much anticipation, Molten Store has launched and is as fabulous as expected, suiting Jessy’s aesthetic perfectly.  Upon browsing there were so many items that caught my eye, with a number of them ending up on my ‘wish list’  including a necklace by House of Harlow, a pyrite ring by Rachel Pfeffer and this sweet little recipe journal.

Imagine my delight when I received an email about this competition where Molten Store are offering the chance to win one of the Pyrite Rings that I had already been lusting over, and not only that, they were giving my readers the opportunity to win one also.

Un Pour Moi, Un Pour Toi is french for ‘one for me, one for you’, so of course I am hoping that one of my readers wins this competition, meaning that I win also!  Wouldn’t that be fantastic?! Winners all around!

Vanilla Cupcakes with Lady Dash

My wonderful friend Lady Dash has recently started blogging about her cooking adventures, in particular, cooking her way through Donna Hay’s ‘Fresh, Fast, Simple’.  She was also given the opportunity to test out a few of Donna’s new range of packet mixes so we decided to collaborate on a blog post.

Of course, Lady Dash is the perfect host, and I was lucky enough to be treated to a delicious lunch: Herb and Mozzarella Mushrooms with Garlic Toasts, which was the entree at her latest dinner party (that I unfortunately had to miss).

Spots and Stripes

I hope that you all had a lovely Easter break and managed to mark a few things off your to do list…as well as having a couple of days to relax and have a good time.
Although the entire weekend was plagued with rain, Kris and I still spent a day down at Currumbin wandering around and exploring while trying to stay as dry as possible.

After we had taken a stroll along the beach, we headed up Currumbin creek for a little change of scenery.  The rain forced us to shelter in the car for a while, but eventually the sky cleared a little and allowed us to explore a little more.

Super cute!

With the change in weather, I got a chance to wear my ‘new’ jumper I got from a $2 Vinnies sale.  Thanks to Ally for letting me know about the sale!

A fabulous day was finished off with an amazing lunch at Magic Apple cafe.  Completely veggo, vegan and GF friendly and cheekily placed next to McDonalds, it is the perfect place for a late lunch if you are near Burleigh. Seriously, check out the size of that felafel burger!

What did you do with your Easter break??

The little things

With all that is going on in this crazy world of ours, it can seem self centred to have a ‘tough week’, when the things concerning me are minuscule in comparison to what others are going through.

Life really is good and I am so lucky to be in the position that I am, learning so much about something I am feeling more and more passionate about, despite some of the challenges that have been thrown in my path.

To lift my mood, I find it helps to have some little things around the house that perk me up and remind me to smile…

Market fresh pineapple

A minute alone enjoying our lush grass with a cuppa

Native flowers

Ripe tomatoes

White lillies

The first strawberry

Iced water with lemon and fresh mint

Swans made from foil

Herbal tea

My heart goes out to all of the people that are suffering in this world, particularly those in Japan and in Libya who are dealing with situations of huge impact to their countries and their lives.

28 before 27

Another year older…  It is crazy to think that I am 26 (I still feel 19 though and that’s what counts right?).

After a fabulous weekend celebrating and being spoiled by friends, I thought it was time to reflect a little and think about some things I want to accomplish (and blog about) over the next year.  I’m not quite ready to do a life list but here are a few things I want to do before I turn 27…

  1. take a beautiful photo, revamp an old frame and hang it on my wall
  2. do a latin dance class
  3. make a terrarium
  4. do a video post on my blog
  5. read the entire Harry Potter series
  6. create a mood board
  7. go vegan for a week
  8. raise money for a good cause
  9. cook something using entirely home grown and farmers market sourced ingredients
  10. have a ‘technology-free’ weekend
  11. buy a vintage camera
  12. take a cooking class
  13. paint something in chalk board paint
  14. make a meal plan and stick to it for one month
  15. make cinnamon buns from scratch
  16. sew one piece of clothing
  17. throw a dinner party
  18. read some classics
  19. learn to meditate
  20. make a perfect latte and attempt a rosetta
  21. make friends with a random stranger
  22. organise a meet up for local bloggers
  23. make ice cream from scratch
  24. revamp a piece of furniture for Project Restyle
  25. start a tradition
  26. go berry picking
  27. write a love letter and send it in the post
  28. write a list of 29 things to do before I turn 28

Latte art by Kris

So in love with my new handbag that the mister got me for my bday… and all of my other wonderful pressies that I have not had time yet to take pictures of.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
